What is the database and how do I use it? The SSC online databases focuses on opportunities that fit two categories, (A) National Essay/Speech/Video Contests and (B) Local/Regional/State Opportunities. The majority of opportunities are for seniors preparing to graduate, however some scholarships include underclassmen, which tend to be the contests. Scholarship Database Tip from Mrs. Pilon: If a scholarship is listed but still shows "expired" or "pending", if it fits your qualifications then go ahead and click on the link and learn more so you can prepare for the day the scholarship is renewed with a current deadline.
