The NCAA and NCSA serve students and the parents/guardians of student-athletes who have a dream to play college sports. Owosso High School wants to help its student-athletes to get the most out of their education but it is the ultimate responsibility of the student to take charge of the steps required to become eligible.
STUDENT-ATHLETE TRANSCRIPT ORDERING RESPONSIBILITY: It is the responsibility of student-athletes to be diligent in their follow-through on all NCAA and NCSA required tasks that go with being an association registered student.
It is the student-athlete's responsibility, while registered with an association, to regularly provide updated electronic transcripts to the association every semester.
ORDERING A SECURE TRANSCRIPT ONLINE: Owosso Public Schools is contracted with Parchment to process secure document sharing online. This is helpful because the NCAA and NCSA both prefer receiving transcripts electronically through Parchment.
A customized OHS-Parchment Portal and support page is available on this website, offering a quick OHS custom login and ordering link at www.ReachHigherOHS.com/Transcript.
Each semester, updated transcripts for all enrolled students are uploaded to the Parchment database.* This means that "new" orders must be placed by the student each semester in order to send the updated transcript.
ORDERING TIPS & TRICKS The Law: The law says you must place your own order. This is due to federal information protection laws the high school cannot assume who you want your transcript to be sent to. Do not rely on or accept offers by any organization or post-secondary institution to order your transcript for you. Legal Name: Transcripts are a legal document and students must use their full Legal Name when setting up their account. Use of shortened/nicknames will cause orders to be place on hold by Parchment for security reasons. (i.e., Incorrect = Jimmy/Jim/Jon Smith; Correct = Jonathan James Smith.)
Parent Support: Parents are able to support their child by creating their own Parent Account on Parchment. Parents must ONLY place orders using a Parent Account and can do so until the student turns 18 years of age.
Order Twice a Year: *Semester 1 Transcript Order February-March (OHS releases late-February)
*Semester 2 Transcript Order May-June (OHS releases late-June)
Place "NEW" Order: Be sure to place a "New" order each semester. It is not uncommon for busy students to accidentally re-sending the previous semester's transcript found in their unique personal Parchment profile archives. Plan Ahead = Pre-Order: You can plan ahead by requesting next semester's transcript early by selecting the drop down bar option, "Hold for Grades", available at the end of the order process.
Place Final Order: Seniors - Don't forget that YOU must place a "New" FINAL transcript order to your association and your chosen college.
SAT Scores: Seniors - Although your SAT scores might appear on your unofficial transcript the start of your senior year, the scores are not published as part of an "official" transcript until the 7th-Semester Transcript/Senior Year-Semester 1.
Free vs Fee Warning: *Orders on Parchment are free until midnight on July 31st following high school graduation.
