2/12/2019 OHS SSC Daily Announcements: Another snow day and school missed, but don't miss out on the OHS SSC Daily Academic Announcements!
*Seniors – Have you filed our FAFSA yet? The Michigan deadline is March 1st. A supportive FAFSA Night is scheduled for *this Friday*, February 15, 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., OHS Media Center. Student and Parents Bring: FSA ID, SS #, 2017 Taxes, and Parents need to also bring any records of investments and records of income.
*Are you interested in a career in the fields of dentistry, nursing, health fitness, physical therapy? These are just a few of the careers you can explore at this year's Mott Community College Health Science Career Night, next Tuesday, February 19, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, at MCC’s Main Campus, Flint, MI. *Seniors - A Construction Internship Opportunity is available to seniors interested in going in to the construction field. Be at MichiganWorks on February 26, 10:00 a.m. sharp, bring your resume for the first-come first-serve orientation and opportunity to be considered for a construction internship. *What does your future hold? Course registration for next year has begun. The counselors encourage all students and parents to sit down together to review the 2019-2020 Curriculum Guide and make a plan. *Are you a student-athlete? If you are registered with a sports recruiting warehouse such as NCAA or NCSA, they require students to submit their updated high school transcript Every Semester! *Seniors – Do you have a 2.75 GPA or higher? There are scholarships just waiting for You to apply. February’s remaining Michigan scholarships are: (1) The Engineering Society of Detroit’s “Outstanding High School Student of the Year” Scholarship, due Feb 20th and valued at $1,000. (2) If your parent or grandparent worked in education you might qualify for the Michigan Education Association Scholarship, due Feb 21st. (3) Minority seniors with a 2.75 or higher GPA, you qualify to apply for the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship, due Feb 22nd.
